Unavailable Components
Parts that are no longer readily available from the original source.
REPLACEMENT PARTS
3D printing can provide a practical route for certain unavailable, discontinued or difficult-to-source components when suitable geometry or reference information is available.
DISCUSS A REPLACEMENTRECREATE · ADAPT · REPLACE
Traditional manufacturing can be uneconomical when only one or a few replacement components are required. 3D printing can be useful for appropriate low-volume parts without dedicated production tooling.
Suitability depends on geometry, required accuracy, material, operating environment and the function of the original component. Each replacement project should therefore be reviewed individually.
POSSIBLE APPLICATIONS
01
Parts that are no longer readily available from the original source.
02
Components where a suitable replacement can be recreated from dimensions, reference geometry or CAD.
03
Protective covers, caps, knobs and non-standard external components.
04
Custom mounting and support components with application-specific dimensions.
05
Parts that provide an interface between equipment, accessories or existing systems.
06
Small quantities of replacement components where conventional production is impractical.
IMPORTANT
A 3D printed replacement is not automatically equivalent to an original injection-moulded, machined or certified component. Material properties and production methods differ.
Safety-critical, highly loaded or regulated applications require particular care and may not be appropriate for this production method without suitable engineering validation.
PROJECT REVIEW
Provide CAD, dimensions, photographs or a suitable reference part.
We review geometry, material and intended use.
Approved replacement parts are manufactured.
Fit and suitability should be confirmed for the intended application.
